SUPERNATURAL 7.8: "Season Seven, Time for a Wedding!"
There's something here, in the way Kripke and Co. view fans, that puts me in mind of Doctor Who's "Love and Monsters" and the way that episode framed fandom as both enthusiastic and slight pathetic. Indeed, it seems like a number of genre series in the past decade have address this quite directly; from "Superstar" on Buffy to the numerous meta/fan episodes of SPN. It would be interesting (well, I'd be interested) to analyze how a number of generically similar shows (both here and abroad) address fan culture within the text.
